Finalists of the World Cup 2018

The list of finalists for the FIFA world cup 2018 is now complete and there are many familiar faces with a few surprise teams missing. Most noteably Italy, United States, Czech Republic, Turkey, Greece, Netherlands, Cameroon and Chile

We will know little more about odds when the draw for the group stage takes place on December 1st 2017

As ever, FIFA World Ranking determines pot placement with the hosts Russia automatically seeded in Pot 1

The list of qualifying teams is as follows:

UEFA (Europe)

Qualified: Russia (host), Belgium, Germany, England, Spain, Poland, Iceland, Serbia, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Croatia, Sweden, Denmark

AFC (Asia)

Qualified: Iran, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia

CAF (Africa)

Qualified: Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco

CONCACAF (North America)

Qualified: Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama

CONMEBOL (South America)

Qualified: Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Peru

It’s too early to pick a winner, but if there was a sweepstake I’d be routing for either Brazil, Germany or Spain

Why England won’t win the world cup 2014

So the premiership has now finished for another season. Congratulations go to Man City who won another premier title yesterday. Surely ideal preparations for England Goalkeeper Joe Hart for the World Cup.

But realistically do England have a chance of winning the World Cup in Brazil? Here at Free World Cup Tips we think not for three main reasons:

Group of death

Costa Rica, Italy and Uraguay … lets face it the draw for a South Amercian world cup couldn’t have been much tougher

Before the draw in December 2013 Roy Hodgson described how important how important is was for us to avoid the jungle climate of Manaus.
The Italians will be more acclimatized to this, in what is likely to be a must win game.

Lack of attacking options

We can blame the draw and the conditions … and as a nation who feels we deserve to win another World cup we obviously will do, but the bottom line is that we don’t have anything like the attacking options afforded to the best teams in this years world cup.

For England to stand any chance we need an in form Wayne Rooney and more importantly for Roy Hodgson to develop a plan B to push forward.

In short, only the very bravest should go for England to win at 35/1
